I respect faith, but doubt is what gets you an education.

Weblog
I was not bored enough to add anything here (yet)...
About me..
I currently reside in Chicago, IL in the Lakeview/Lincoln Park area. Before moving here, I lived in Buffalo, New York where I studied Philosophy and Computer Science at the University at Buffalo.
Prior to living in the US, I lived in Cheltenham, in the United Kingdom. Cheltenham, a city in the Gloucestershire county, is about forty minutes from Oxford, and an hour away from Central London, where I also spent some time.
Before that, I resided in Bahrain, located in the Persian Gulf, attending St. Christopher's School. You'll be lucky if you find Bahrain on a map, as the island is very small.
This site was written using Emacs, Mason and PostgreSQL.
Randomness
Just some interesting stuff I have come across/done over the past years....
Philosophy
If you are interested in Friedrich Nietzsche, or Chinua Achebe, I have posted a paper I wrote comparing the two Philosophers here.
Political Ramble
I wrote an article on Pakistan's struggle with militant groups, which also discusses the current President for Pakistan, General Pervez Musharraf, which you can read here. It was written for an online magazine, and was later published in a newspaper.
Trademarked?
This is an interesting one. Back in 1997, a particular company wanted me to take down my name from webpages I had written, because they interfered with the pages of the company. You can read the letters here. Quite amusing. I cannot seem to find them online anymore. Sad thing is, this kind of stuff is still going on.
Writings
For those interested, here are some documents I have helped with, or have been mentioned in:
- Professional Apache 2.0 - Wrote on the integration of Python, mod_python and mod_snake with Apache 2, as well as technical reviewing. Published by Wrox Publishers.
- Apache Install - Document I wrote to help you install Apache with popular modules.
- Setting up Linux on the Sony Vaio GR370 and GR390 models.
- ISP-Hookup-HOWTO - My open source package (see Virtfs below) gets a mention in this HOWTO.
- MP3 Howto - The HOWTO is written by Phil Kerr, but I added the MP3 to Minidisc section.
You can see more of what I have written on my Linux pages.
Virtfs
My contribution to the Open Source movement. Virtfs is a package written primarily for Linux that makes the process of creating and administering virtual servers easy and comfortable. Testing on the main popular distros of Linux, this package has helped servers all over the globe.
It is composed of several Perl script and a wrapper written in C. For those that want to see the source code to the main part of this package before installing, you may do so here.
